2020 MINI HARDTOP 4 DOOR VS 2020 MINI COUNTRYMAN

SERVING GREENVILLE, SC
MINI models offer buyers an extensive array of versions and trims. The popular MINI Hardtop goes up against rival four-door sedans and SUVs in an elegant fashion. The full body and pleasant, roomy interior are big selling points, and also, the vehicle is fun to drive. Two engines are available, and both of these can be combined with the choice of three different trims. The 2020 MINI Countryman is more wagon-styled, and it will appeal to those who want a family transport that offers more than just the family-friendly convenience features. Like the Hardtop 4 Door, the Countryman provides the buyer with a choice of powertrains and lots of trim versions.
PERFORMANCE
The 2020 MINI Hardtop 4 Door can be purchased as one of two different sub-models, the Cooper and Cooper S. The former is powered by a 1.5L, three-cylinder engine that pumps out a total of 134 horsepower. That power is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission. The Cooper S gets a larger engine, a turbocharged 2.0L that produces 189 horsepower. Both the Cooper and Cooper S can be ordered in one of three different trim levels. The Countryman has four different model types, and the first two get the same engines as the Hardtop 4 Door. The other two models have their own unique engine. The John Cooper Works comes with a turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 301 horsepower and also has standard all-wheel drive. The Cooper SE Plug-In hybrid has a three-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor for a total combined output of 221 horsepower.
APPEARANCE
The 2020 MINI Hardtop 4 Door looks something like a boxy wagon, but the overall dimensions are similar to a five-seat crossover. There are a sharply sloping tail end and a tall tailgate, and the front end has a rounded, retro appearance. All three trims have automatic headlights, and the uplevel trims get their unique wheels. The Cooper S Classic is sold with summer performance tires, and the Cooper Signature has LED headlights. The 2020 MINI Countryman looks even more like a wagon than does the Hardtop 4 Door, and it has a more extended rear end and, therefore, vaster cargo capacity. Now standard on all trims is LED headlights. All trims have roof rails, and the uplevel versions offer the buyer an extended number of exterior paint color choices.
FEATURES
The base trim MINI Hardtop 4 Door boasts a leather-wrapped steering wheel, simulated leather upholstery, Bluetooth, and a 6.5-inch central display screen. The Active Driver Assist package is also standard, and this and the other two trims come with forward collision warning with emergency braking. The uplevel trims get a panoramic sunroof and heated front seats. A special package adds on satellite radio, navigation, and a premium stereo system. The 2020 MINI Countryman also get simulated leather upholstery on the base trim, but all trims get the sunroof. All but the base trim gets heated front seats. Apple CarPlay and a head-up display are included on all but the base trim. The range-topping Iconic trim comes with leather upholstery and power-adjustable front seats. The Countryman also features the same list of standard driver aids as the Hardtop 4 Door.
